The Project

An exploratory brand design project for Hiraya, an all-natural, cruelty-free cosmetic company based in Los Angeles for internet personality Bella Poarch. The goal of the project was to create a brand identity that communicates the company’s commitment to natural ingredients, ethical practices, and a vibrant spirit.

The name was derived from a word from Bella’s Filipino heritage meaning “one’s dreams and aspirations.” The letter forms and supporting assets are all based on traditional patterns and colors inspired by Filipino culture.

Wordmark & Icon

The wordmark was designed to feel light and softer to emphasize how the products feel when in use. A friendly and natural tone and style.

Brand Assets

Geometric patterns inspired by traditional Filipino art created the base for detail elements that could be used across packaging and promotional assets.
